Description |
An opportunity to become part of the Nuclear New build programme.
Four UK EPRs planned for Hinkley, Somerset and Sizewell, Suffolk, involve significant civil construction work with 400000 cubic meters of concrete and 50000 tonnes of steel reinforcement. Many of the structures are safety related and seismically qualified. While the Nuclear island buildings are replicating the design already being constructed at Flamanville 3, the Marine works and BOP have to adapt to site conditions.
The Environmental Engineer will work within the EDF Architect Engineering taking responsibility for the overall performance and coordination environmental protection measures at Hinkley site.
Key Responsibilities The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for: • Ensuring the site is operated in conformance with all statutory requirements for environmental performance. • Establishing management systems to proactively manage environmental performance at Hinkley to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained.
Essential Qualifications Minimum of a relevant technical Degree (or equivalent) or a IOSH working Safely
Desirable Qualifications NEBOSH
Experience Required • Experience of managing contracts on a nuclear site • Minimum of 10+years experience in major project construction in major process industry. • Experience in Health and Safety systems of work • Experience of ISO 14001 environmental management systems • Knowledge of environmental legislation
