Description |
Our client is a major player in the area of drilling, completions and intervention services. They would like to add an experienced drilling engineer to their expanding team.
The purpose of the role is to develop and implement the drilling programs including drilling system design and operational procedures relating to Controlled Pressure Drilling.
RESPONSIBILITIES Liaise with the client regarding their upcoming Drilling operations and aid the client with the design of each drilling program, whilst coordinating information for a project overview.
Recommending project specific equipment requirements and specifications
Provide operational field supervisory support to ongoing drilling operations regionally also related to underbalanced and managed pressure drilling projects.
Coordinate the engineering process from basis of design, through FEED to project execution.
To ensure the well is drilled in compliance with the agreed schedule & program.
Be involved in the development of new technology.
QUALIFICATIONS Essential: Educated to BSc degree level within a technical engineering subject. Ideally Petroleum or Mechanical.
Preferred: MSc Petroleum Engineering or similar
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE Essential: Experience working as a Drilling and/or Petroleum Engineer
Previous experience in horizontal and extended reach well planning, design, and construction.
Preferred: Previous experience with Directional drilling, Casing Design and drilling fluid design, O.B.M. and W.B.M. HPHT wells experience would be advantageous.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE Essential: Will have good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
Preferred: Knowledge of Controlled Pressure Drilling concept (Managed Pressure Drilling and/or Underbalanced Drilling systems) is preferred.
Drilling with Casing experience would be advantageous.
